Spectrum Health is a not-for-profit health system in West Michigan offering a full continuum of care through the Spectrum Health Hospital Group, which is comprised of nine hospitals including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a state of the art children’s hospital that opened in January 2011, and 183 service sites; the Spectrum Health Medical Group and West Michigan Heart, physician groups totaling more than 700 providers; and Priority Health, a health plan with 600,000 members. Spectrum Health is West Michigan’s largest employer with 19,000 employees. The organization provided $204 million in community benefit during its 2012 fiscal year.

This multi-billion dollar section of Michigan Street has transformed the heart of downtown Grand Rapids into a world-class health care destination. It is home to the area's premier clinical, research, and academic institutions, including Spectrum Health Medical Center, consisting of the Meijer Heart Center, Van Andel Research Institute, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine - Secchia Center, Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences - Grand Valley State University, Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

Spectrum Health has launched a new interactive online map that allows users to view its buildings, as well those of its nearby medical, research and educational partners on Michigan Street hill.
As of last year, nearly $1 billion has been spent on new medical, research and educational buildings and infrastructure on Michigan Street between Fuller and Division avenues.
Spectrum's map highlights its facilities, and is intended to show how the Michigan Street landscape has changed over the past 10 years.
Viewers can click on and get information about Spectrum sites, as well as Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine Secchia Center, and the Van Andel Research Institute.
